Delete Cellar-held data
Cellar does not create a separate Cellar account. You sign in with the Google / YouTube Music account you already have. This page is the web resource for deleting the data Cellar stores when you use the apps or api.cellar.fm.
Deleting Cellar-held data does not delete, close, or change your Google or YouTube account. Your YouTube Music library, playlists, likes, and subscriptions stay with Google.
1. What we delete
- YouTube Music session cookies stored on your device by Cellar
- Local caches, saved account info, and offline downloads
- What Cellar stores on api.cellar.fm for your account: listening history, the cross-device resume snapshot, friends and sharing data, Release Radar, pins, playlist folders, Library Recents, Last.fm and Libre.fm links, and the sign-in tokens our server issued to your apps
Bug reports you sent are kept in our Notion workspace and are not part of the in-app deletion. Ask us by email (section 3) and we delete them too.
Optional Ko-fi tips and Patreon pledges are separate from Cellar app data. Those records follow the Privacy Policy and the checkout of Ko-fi or Patreon respectively.
2. From the app
The same action exists on every platform. It erases your data on api.cellar.fm for every device and signs you out on this one.
- iPhone: Settings, Delete my Cellar data
- Android: Settings, Delete Cellar data
- Desktop (macOS, Windows, Linux): Settings, Account, Delete my Cellar data
Confirm, and the app removes its local data and asks our server to delete the rest in the same action. Delete the app afterwards if you want nothing left on the device.
3. Without the app, or to delete bug reports
If you no longer have the app, or you want your bug reports deleted, email support@cellar.fm with the subject “Delete Cellar data” and your YouTube handle (the@name shown on your YouTube Music profile) or your channel ID (starts with UC). For synced features api.cellar.fm does not store the email address of your Google account, so it is not needed and does not help us find that data. (A bug report you sent does include your email address if you were signed in; see the Privacy Policy.) We may ask you for something that shows the request comes from the account holder before we delete anything. We then delete the matching rows on api.cellar.fm.
Uninstalling the app also removes local Cellar files on that device. It does not by itself erase the api.cellar.fm rows, so use one of the options above if you want those gone.
4. Getting a copy of your data first
There is no export button yet. Email support@cellar.fm with the subject “Data export” and the same handle or channel ID. We send you what api.cellar.fm holds for you as a JSON file, normally within 30 days. The same identity check as above may apply.
5. Timing
In-app deletion is immediate for local data and is requested from our API in the same action. Email requests are handled as soon as we can identify the matching rows, typically within 30 days.
Deleted listening history, whether one play or all of it, is hidden immediately and purged from api.cellar.fm 30 days after the deletion. Encrypted backups of our server may hold deleted data for up to 12 more months (see section 5 of the Privacy Policy).
6. Your Google account
To close or delete the Google account itself, use Google’s account tools. Cellar cannot do that for you.
