YouTube Music app for Windows

Cellar is a free YouTube Music desktop app for Windows. Sign in with your own account and get a real app in the taskbar instead of another browser tab.

Free for macOS (Apple Silicon), Windows, and Linux. Needs a YouTube Music account.

Requirements

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit.
  • A Google account with YouTube Music.

Install

  1. Click Download for Windows to get the installer (.exe).
  2. Run it. You can pick the install folder; no administrator rights are needed.
  3. Open Cellar and sign in with Google. Sign-in opens in your own browser, on Google's page, so Cellar never sees your password.

The installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may warn you the first time. Click More info, then Run anyway. Cellar updates itself after that.

Made for Windows

  • Previous, play and pause, and next buttons under the taskbar thumbnail, with track progress on the icon.
  • Media keys and the Windows media card, with cover art and a working seek bar.
  • Mouse back and forward buttons, and Alt+Left and Alt+Right, move through pages.
  • Optional launch at startup.

Questions

Is there an official YouTube Music app for Windows?

Google does not ship a dedicated YouTube Music desktop app. You can install the website as a web app from your browser, or use a desktop client such as Cellar.

Why does SmartScreen warn about the installer?

SmartScreen warns about installers without a paid code-signing certificate, which Cellar does not have yet. The download comes from Cellar's GitHub Releases page.
