Feature
YouTube Music Discord Rich Presence
YouTube Music has no Discord integration. Cellar adds one: your Discord profile shows the song, the artist and the cover art you are playing, with a live progress bar, and you decide what every line says.
Free for macOS (Apple Silicon), Windows, and Linux. Needs a YouTube Music account.
What your friends see
While you play, your Discord status reads "Listening to Cellar" with the music note icon, not "Playing". The card shows the track title, the artist, the playlist or station you are playing from, the cover art and a progress bar that moves with the song. Long titles wrap onto a second line instead of being cut off.
The first line also shows in the server member list, so people see the song without opening your profile.
Make the card your own
- Pick what the header and each of the three lines show: song, artist, album, playlist or station, or nothing.
- Write your own line with placeholders, such as "by {artist}" or "on {album}". A line whose placeholder has no value is hidden.
- Choose a progress bar or an elapsed counter. Livestreams always use the counter.
- Show or hide the profile button and the small app badge on the cover art.
- A live preview in Settings renders the same card Discord will show.
Turn it on
- Install and open the Discord desktop app on the same computer.
- In Cellar, open Settings ▸ Integrations and switch on Discord Rich Presence.
- Play something. The card appears within a couple of seconds.
There is no Discord login, bot or token to set up: Cellar talks to the Discord app running next to it. If Discord starts after Cellar, the card shows up within about 30 seconds. Switch the toggle off and the card clears.
Questions
Does YouTube Music support Discord Rich Presence?
Not officially. The YouTube Music website does not publish what you listen to on Discord. Cellar is a desktop app for YouTube Music that does, with a card you can customize.
Do I need to connect my Discord account?
Not on desktop. Cellar sends the activity to the Discord app running on the same computer, so there is nothing to authorize.
Can I listen without showing it on Discord?
Yes. Switch Discord Rich Presence off in Settings ▸ Integrations and your status clears. Switch it back on whenever you like.
Cellar works with a free or Premium YouTube Music account. YouTube Premium perks (including ad-free listening) stay with Google. Cellar is an independent project and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, YouTube or Google.
