Feature
Scrobble YouTube Music to Last.fm and Libre.fm
YouTube Music does not scrobble. Cellar does it from its own player: connect Last.fm, Libre.fm or both once, and every song you play counts, with no browser extension and no tab to keep open.
Free for macOS (Apple Silicon), Windows, and Linux. Needs a YouTube Music account.
Connect in a minute
- In Cellar, open Settings ▸ Integrations.
- Click Connect Last.fm (or Connect Libre.fm) and approve Cellar on the page that opens in your browser.
- The row now reads "Connected as" and your username. Play a song and it shows as now playing on your profile.
When a song counts
- Your profile shows the track as now playing within a few seconds of starting it.
- A track scrobbles once you have heard half of it or four minutes of it, whichever comes first. A 3:00 song scrobbles at 1:30, a 12 minute DJ set at 4:00.
- Skip before that point and the play does not scrobble.
- Tracks shorter than 30 seconds and livestreams never scrobble.
- Each scrobble keeps the time you started the song.
These are the rules Last.fm sets for every scrobbler, so your charts stay comparable with plays from other apps.
Last.fm and Libre.fm together
Link one service or both. With both linked, every play goes to each of them, and disconnecting one leaves the other running. The connection follows your YouTube Music profile, so other computers you use Cellar on show it as connected the next time you open Settings.
Click Disconnect in the same row and scrobbling stops. If you revoke Cellar in your Last.fm settings instead, the row falls back to "Not connected" after your next play.
Questions
Does YouTube Music scrobble to Last.fm?
No. YouTube Music has no built-in Last.fm support, which is why people use browser extensions for it. Cellar scrobbles from its own player, so nothing else needs to be installed.
Does Last.fm scrobbling in Cellar cost anything?
No. Cellar is free, and scrobbling works with free Last.fm and Libre.fm accounts.
Does Cellar have its own listening stats too?
Yes. Your Cellar profile shows listening time, top songs, top artists and streaks whether or not you connect Last.fm or Libre.fm.
Can I turn off now playing and keep scrobbles?
No. While an account is connected, Cellar sends both. Disconnect the account to stop both.
Cellar works with a free or Premium YouTube Music account. YouTube Premium perks (including ad-free listening) stay with Google. Cellar is an independent project and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, YouTube or Google.
